米ソーシャルゲームディベロッパーのKabam、「ロード・オブ・ザ・リング」をソーシャルゲーム化

米カリフォルニア州に拠点を置くソーシャルゲームディベロッパーのKabamが、映画化もされたJ.R.R.トールキンのファンタジー大作「ロード・オブ・ザ・リング（指輪物語）」及び「ホビット（ホビットの冒険）」をソーシャルゲーム化するためワーナー・ブラザーズと業務提携を行った。

KabamではこれらJ.R.R.トールキン作品を題材としたソーシャルゲームをモバイル版とWebブラウザ版の2つ開発するとのことで、どちらも今秋にリリース予定だという。モバイル版の名称は『Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-Earth』で、Webブラウザ版の名称は『The Hobbit: Armies of the Third Age』となり、現在同社サイト上にて『The Hobbit: Armies of the Third Age』の事前登録受付を行っている。
