海外マルチメディアイベント「SXSW」と海外メディアIGNが提携して行われたオンラインイベント「2021 SXSW Gaming Awards」にて、『Hades』がVideo Game of the Yearを受賞しました。
SXSWは、1987年に音楽イベントとして開催されたのが始まりの音楽祭・映画祭・フェスティバルなど、様々なカルチャーを組み合わせた大規模イベント。毎年3月にアメリカテキサス州オースティンで開催されていましたが、2021年はSXSWとIGNが提携し、オンラインイベントとして開催されました。
2020年に行われた「2020 SXSW Gaming Awards」では現地イベントが中止となりましたが、『SEKIRO: SHADOWS DIE TWICE』がVideo Game of the Yearを受賞しています。
