海外メディアIGNが主催するゲームイベント「Summer of Gaming」内で、ビデオゲームにおけるLGBTQ+表現を称える賞「Gayming Awards 2024」の受賞式が行われました。
今年のアワードではLarian Studiosが5部門で6回ノミネートされ、ほぼすべての部門で賞を獲得。同スタジオによる2023年発売のRPG『バルダーズ・ゲート3』が『Marvel's Spider-Man 2』、『ファイナルファンタジーXVI』、『ゼルダの伝説 ティアーズ オブ ザ キングダム』などを抑えてゲーム・オブ・ザ・イヤーを含む最多受賞を果たしました。
そのほか、Outer Loop Gamesのアドベンチャーゲーム『Thirsty Suitors』が4部門で4回ノミネートされ、2部門で受賞。HBO（Home Box Office／米の有料ケーブルテレビ放送局）によるドラマ『The Last of Us』の第1シーズン第3話「Long, Long Time」がLGBTQ+ギーク・エンターテインメント・モーメント・オブ・ザ・イヤーを受賞しました。
